Fresh, Fine Dining in Tiburon
Striking a delicate balance between rustic-chic and timeless elegance Tiburon Tavern blends a cozy aesthetic with a deep “green,” eco-spirit instilled by the owners, Renzo and Crystal Azzarello. Renzo’s penchant for the culinary arts is a passion he’s been cultivating since arriving from Sicily to the California Bay Area. Spending nearly the last decade on the historic Tiburon grounds has been a motivation of the culinary ethics and offerings of today’s Tiburon Tavern.
Renzo & Crystal Azzarello of nearby restaurant Luna Blu and their Sous Chef Selvin Vicente decided to assume ownership of Tiburon Tavern after it had been forced to close at the start of the 2020 pandemic, seeing it was greatly missed by the community.
Serendipitously, Renzo & Crystal first visited the Tavern over eight years ago when they honeymooned at Tiburon Lodge Hotel. They enjoyed a “Yappy hour” event at the Tavern partnered with the Milo Animal Sanctuary and adopted a honeymoon puppy that they fell in love with. The tiny 12 lb puppy Zorro is now over 110lbs!
With the Tavern reopening, the neighborhood is enjoying a happy blend of both new and familiar faces. With a culinary philosophy ruled by the seasons, the Tavern’s menus are created with ingredients selected fresh daily from Marin County’s Certified Organic Farming community and locally and regionally-sourced ingredients from farms and purveyors.
This mindful approach to cuisine that supports the local farmers is appreciated in the distinctive preparation of memorable and healthy dishes.
